Our History
It all began in 1870 when Andrea Rosa, ahead of his time, made his kitchen mobile and organized “home-delivered meals” for the Venetian palaces and villas in the surrounding area. His insight, delightfully turned into an unforeseeable success, and Andrea was more frequently requested in and out of town. Starting his journey at dawn, he would take a horse-drawn river barge to reach the various Venetian villas speckled along the Brenta River.
In 1879, Antonio Rosa, known as “Salva”, inherited the “traveling trattoria” from his father, and became the royal chef. Awards and prizes made him famous for his cooking, but above all as a refined pastry chef. Today, the Rosa Salva company still continues to prepare the pastries and on-site catering service under the direct supervision of the owners. From the experience handed down and improved over six generations, comes about the rigorous artisanal quality and the flexibility in tailoring the service and tastes according to the client’s every need.
